2000 TT600

The only bike I’ve bought from a dealer, and what a great purchase it was too! A cracking little 600, nimble in the corners, unique styling, and a British manufacturer.

One slight issue with this bike (and all of Triumph’s 4 pot 600s), lousy fuel mapping from factory.

This issue manifests itself as rough/poor performance under 4k revs. In the twisties, not so much of a problem, but around town and pulling away, it can be a bit tricky to deal with.

To fix this issue, I broke out my laptop and remapped it. And what a difference it made! The bike performed MUCH better after that, although still a little hesitant away from the lights.

I exchanged this bike with a friend for their Daytona 600 (See relevant section) due to the Daytona having a few issues, and knocking the confidence of my friend, so I offered the exchange to enable her to regain her confidence with a trustworthy bike.

Sadly, soon afterwards, the bike was stolen and written off. Apparently injuring the thieves in the process, I guess that would at least prevent them from stealing any more bikes, even if only in the short term.

A sad ending for a great bike.
